The Department of Wildlife is asking for help finding the person who killed and mutilated a bald eagle. The bird's carcass was abandoned on the sidewalk of a Motel 6 in Sallisaw in late March. The talons had been removed along with the tail feathers and several large wing feathers. Bald eagles are protected by federal and state laws and it is illegal to kill them. A $2,500 reward is being offered for information in the case. Anyone with information can call the Department of Wildlife at 1-800-522-8039.
