More than 400 Tulsa third graders who scored unsatisfactory on the state's required reading exam demonstrated they can move on to the fourth grade.
Tulsa Public Schools administrators say 414 students who were at risk of being held back will now be promoted to the third grade.
Summer school is in session for another week. Students who are still at risk of being retained will be given an alternative exam at the end of the session to see if they have made enough progress to be promoted.
