More than 600 people in West Tulsa spent nearly 2 and a half hours in the dark Thursday night after a driver runs into a power pole.
The accident happened just after 6:30 Thursday night near 3800 Southwest Blvd.
Police say, the 80-year-old man was killed in the wreck that destroyed a power pole.
Witnesses say, the driver was approaching a curve in Southwest Blvd. They say, instead of making that curve, the man drove straight into the power pole without hitting his brakes.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Authorities have not released his name.
Power was restored to the area shortly before 9 o'clock.
