Deputies in Adair County have located and arrested an individual suspected of shooting a woman a setting her house on fire.
Officials announced that Benjamin Wilson was taken into custody Friday afternoon near the Salem area just southeast of Stilwell. Deputies with the Adair County Sheriff's Office have been searching for him since the shooting and arson on June 4.
"According to our victim, she is an eye witness [and] she has said he is the one that shot her and he is the one that set the house on fire," Sheriff David Hardin previously told KTUL.
Previous reports state that emergency paramedics arrived to the unidentified woman's home and found she had been shot in the arm and her house in flames. Firefighters were able to quickly put out the fire and the woman was transported in stable condition to an area hospital.
Wilson was arrested with the help of Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers and the U.S. Marshals Service. He reportedly held a woman for a short time before giving up to authorities this afternoon.
Authorities also placed his father, Wade Wilson, under arrest for several outstanding warrants during an earlier search. His charges include felon in possession of a firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia.
Wilson is also reported to have several tattoos on his body, including a flag on his right shoulder and a green clover on his left upper arm. He is a convicted felon and was considered "armed and very dangerous."
