Animal rescue teams returned to a north Tulsa home Wednesday afternoon where an additional 35 more dogs were removed.
Tulsa Animal Welfare officers and members of the Tulsa Humane Society returned to the home at the 2100 block of E Tecumseh after receiving a tip that more animals were inside. This is after the two organizations removed at least 30 dogs from the home earlier this week.
According to an official at the scene, a grand total of 55 dogs have been taken from the woman since the operation began on Monday. He also added that this wasn't a puppy mill case, but more of an animal hoarding issue.
Humane Society volunteers stated this is the fourth animal hoarding case the organization has seen this summer. KTUL was at a previous incident where 47 Jack Russell Terriers were rescued.
Now the dogs are being housed at the Society's location near 61st and Sheridan. Officials are asking the public visit the shelter and help assist in taking care of the animals.
