A suspect wanted for a tractor and trailer theft Saturday was located and arrested Thursday night by the Tulsa Police Department.
The suspect, John Dale, 48, is believed to have stolen a tractor and trailer on East 11th Street and another trailer on South Peoria Avenue Saturday. In the South Peoria theft, a race car was inside the trailer, along with thousands of dollars worth of tools, the police report states. The total theft was valued at $30,000.
The TPD reports they were called to investigate stolen property on North Birmingham Avenue yesterday after 9 p.m. and found the stolen items there. Police also report seeing the suspect driving in the suspected vehicle (which had been caught on surveillance video) nearby.
The suspect and his female companion reportedly tried to flee cops, exiting their vehicle and making a break for it near 1900 North Atlanta Avenue. Officers report that Dale threw a baggie on church property while trying to escape. The content inside the bag was found to be methamphetamine.
Dale, who police report has a 20-year history of related thefts and drug use, was arrested on complaints of larceny and possession of a controlled drug near a church. He's being held on $38,000 bond.
His companion, Rosa Dake, was also arrested for lying to officers.
