      Area Fire Departments Battle 200 Acre Grass Fire in Liberty

      Liberty Fire DepartmentChief Lee Johnson tells Tulsa's Channel 8 that they are working tocontrol a 200-acre grass fire in Liberty.

      The fire extends from221st Street South to 241st Street South nearSheridan Road in Liberty. The neighboring fire departments fromMounds, Liberty Mounds, Keifer, Glenpool, Twin Hills and Beggs areassisting.{} Officials are asking for helicopter support from theForestry Service.

      An abandoned manufacturedhome briefly caught fire, but fire crews were able to extinguish thefire on the home itself.

      Liberty firefighter ColtonLance tells KTUL.com that the fire was intentionally started by aresident of Liberty.
