Authorities Recover Vehicles Possibly Linked to Cold Cases
Authorities in a county west of Oklahoma City recovered two vehicles Tuesday from a lake with the use of sonar equipment. Custer County deputies were reportedly practicing with a new sonar device when they discovered the vehicles in Foss Lake. That's just west of Oklahoma City near Elk City.
According to officials at the scene, both cars were removed from the lake and are being examined by the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner's office.
A report from the Elk City Daily News stated that human remains were found in the vehicles. Officials believe that the Camaro belongs to three teenagers missing from the Sayre area since the 1970s.
Officials believe the second vehicle may be linked to a cold case from back in the 1960s after a couple went missing from Canute.
Anyone with information should call the Custer County Sheriff's Office at 323-1616.
