Authorities Urge Motorcyclists to be Safe on Oklahoma Roads

May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month in Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma Highway Safety Office, Department of Transportation and National Highway Safety Administration want to encourage motorcyclists to wear protective gear, including helmets. They also encourage motorcyclists to undergo proper training so as to be safe on the road.

The road safety groups want all motorists to understand the "Share the Road" concept to make Oklahoma roads safer for all.

A motorcycle safety awareness event open to the public is being held today at the Oklahoma State Capitol.
