Autopsy Released in Execution Investigation
Authorities have released the autopsy report from the execution of Clayton Lockett.
Lockett's execution resulted in a moratorium on executions in Oklahoma while the state investigated what went wrong. It took about 45 minutes for Lockett to die after receiving the lethal drugs.
The state panel investigating the case requested the Dallas County medical examiner perform an autopsy.
The results released today show the cause of death as lethal injection and notes the body showed several failed attempts to start an IV.
