B.A. Voters To Decide On Hotel-Conference Center
A special election later this month could bring new construction to the city of Broken Arrow.
Plans are in the works to build a multi-million dollar hotel-conference center near the Bass Pro Shops.
A proposition on the August 26 ballot would repurpose about $6,000,000 in bond money previously approved in 2004.
The City of Broken Arrow would buy the land, and a private company would build and operate the conference center.
Backers say it could have a huge economic impact for the community.
Jim Thompson with the Stoney Creek Corporation says, "The project includes a 170 room hotel in the first phase and a conference center about 40,000 square feet. It will be a high-tech conference center, and one that will be unique to the market."
The entire project should cost about $26,000,000.
