BAPD to Take Part in "Click It or Ticket" Movement
The Broken Arrow Police Department will be cracking down on drivers not wearing their seat belt from May 19 to June 1 in conjunction with the national "Click It or Ticket" movement.
Law enforcement will be out in force to make sure motorists are wearing their seat belt because seat belts save lives.
One in five motorists fail to use their seat belt and seat belts saved approximately 12,000 lives in 2012, the BAPD reports. 10,335 traffic fatalities were reported in 2012 in which the victims were not wearing a seat belt.
National police agencies will all be focusing on seat belt usage during the Memorial Day travel period, so buckle up, drivers.
