Bartlesville Woman on Outstanding Warrant Arrested During Jail Visit

Bethany Ware

A Bartlesville woman with an outstanding warrant was taken into custody Christmas Eve while depositing money in an inmate's account at the jail.

Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff's Office placed Bethany Ware under arrest and booked her for unlawful possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute.

Court documents indicate that Ware was visiting the Washington County Jail on Christmas Eve around noon. A deputy stated that she recognized Ware had an outstanding warrant for her arrest through the City of Bartlesville.

Ware was confronted by the deputy who helped her finish her transaction and instructed her to take a seat. She advised her that an officer was on the way to serve her with the warrant.

"I'm not going to stay here, it's Christmas and I have kids," an affidavit described her response to the deputy.

Deputies restrained Ware after she attempted to walk towards the door and leave. She repeatedly told them she could not stay because it was Christmas and that she reportedly had a baby in the car.

After Ware was escorted into a jail cell, deputies searched her vehicle and found no child. Instead they discovered amphetamine and oxycodone pills.

She is being held on $10,000 bond for her offense.
