Benefit Fund Created For Injured Tulsa Worker

The city's public works union is seeking donations for a worker badly injured on the job.

On August 29th, employee Robert Bower and others hit a gas line while trying to move a water main in South Tulsa.

Bower got caught up in the ensuing fireball which caused widespread burns on his body.

Officials with the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees union, Local 1180, say Bower probably won't return to work.

To assist his family with bills, AFSCME 1180 will hold a benefit picnic next week, September 28th, in Tulsa's Boulder Park.

The union has also set up an expense account at Bank of Oklahoma. You can donate at any branch by asking for the Robert K. Bower Benefit Fund.
