A bill is in the works in the Oklahoma State Senate which would increase water conservation and reuse in the state.
Senate Bill 1187 would make it state policy to facilitate reuse efforts and would increase efficiency, expand the water supply and consequently aid the state's economy.
The bill was authored by Senator Rob Standridge.
"Strengthening our water infrastructure is vital to improving quality of life and provides critical support for our economic development efforts," Standridge said.
All districts in the state would not be required to partake in water conservation if the bill is passed.
