Bixby Man Armed with Rock Arrested after String of Crimes
A Bixby man is in jail following reported overnight armed robbery, hit-and-run accident and multiple burglaries.
At approximately 11:22 p.m. Friday, a Domino's employee reported that the suspect, Mark Williams, 37, came into the store at 2828 E. 91st Street with a rock, saying he would bash the employee's head in if he did not give him money from the register. The employee did not comply and the suspect was chased out of the store, the police report states.
Williams then ran across the street to Fiesta Mart, once again making threats with the rock and demanding the clerk's car keys and asking for money from the register. Williams allegedly struck the Fiesta Mart employee with a large rock and took his wallet and keys.
Police say Williams took the employee's vehicle and was in the area of 4100 S. 145th E. Ave. when he struck another vehicle in the rear and came to rest in a field, where he exited the vehicle and took off on foot.
Then, Williams started to try to break into homes in the area, police say. He tried to get into one home, but was scared off by an owner. Williams went next door, made entry into a garage, and kicked down the door from the garage to the house. Inside, Williams grabbed a hammer and punched mirrors, causing him to bleed throughout the home, the arrest report states. There was no one inside the home.
The suspect then broke into two more homes in the area. At one of those homes, the suspect reportedly struck a resident with a hammer and then fled.
Williams was then located and arrested by police. He had multiple warrants out for his arrest. He's being held on over $260,000 bond.
Oklahoma Department of Corrections records show Williams has an extensive history of crimes, dating back to 1996.
