A boil order has been lifted Thursday afternoon for residents of a rural water district in Wagoner County.
Officials with the Rural Water District #9 were notified that a water sample tested positive for E. Coli earlier this week. RWD #9 is located in Wagoner County southeast of Tulsa.
KTUL was told that the sample tested positive at only one of RWD #9's testing sites. Officials retested the water Thursday and found no signs of E. Coli during two tests.
Earlier this week The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality notified customers to use water that had been brought to a full, rolling boil for at least one minute or to consume bottled water or from another acceptable source for consumption, use in food preparation, dishwashing and brushing teeth.
Officials flushed the system and chlorinated the water.
