Broken Arrow Police Hand Out Citations for Selling Alcohol to Minors

On Thursday the Broken Arrow Police Department conducted compliance checks on 35 stores that sell liquor in the Broken Arrow area regarding selling alcohol to minors.

Out of those 35 stores, three failed. The three clerks at those respective stores (Conoco, Walmart and B & B Liquor) were cited for selling alcohol to minors.

Officers used the assistance of volunteer juveniles during the process.

Leon Calhoun, corporal with BAPD, said that they typically conduct a few of these types of compliance checks per year.

Calhoun urged stores and clerks in particular to make ID checks on individuals buying liquor to avoid all of the possible risks.
