An officer was injured, Saturday afternoon, after responding to a burglary call around 21st and Southwest Boulevard, according to the arrest report.
The burglary suspect, 29-year-old Irish McReynolds, reportedly entered an apartment, hit a resident with a pipe and scratched him. She then reportedly took his TV and left.
The officer investigated another apartment, identified McReynolds and tried to arrest her. She further clinched her fists, pulled away and started to struggle with the officer. McReynolds reportedly caused the officer to use his pepper spray, which impacted her and him.
After McReynolds reportedly failed to follow commands and struggled with officers for about five minutes, they got her under control and put her in handcuffs.
The officer had multiple visible injuries with blood on his neck, hand and arm from the struggle with the suspect. He was transported to a local hospital and medically cleared and released.
