Police officers in Muskogee camp out for a cause this weekend.
Several members of the Muskogee Police force pitched tents near the Arrowhead Mall Friday morning.
They stayed there through the day and into the night collecting toys for children and the Salvation Army this Christmas.
Tulsa police corporal Pedro Zardeneta said this operation is an old tradition being revived from the 1990s.
"You never know what kind of difference you're going to make in a child's life. That may be the key that turns a child's life around and gives them hope for the future," Zardeneta said.
The police camp-out continues until 5:00pm Saturday, when the toys will be delivered. The officers are camped on the mall grounds near the Office Depot.
