Candidate For Tulsa DA Asks For OK Supreme Court Ruling
A candidate for Tulsa County District Attorney says he's eligible to run for office.
And he wants the state Supreme Court to prove it.
Before the primary election, prosecutor Steve Kunzweiler filed for a judicial ruling against former State Rep. Fred Jordan.
He says Jordan is in-eligible to run because he voted for a pay raise for the D.A.'s office as a lawmaker.
Jordan says it was not an issue, because his term was ending.
Wednesday, he asked the state Supreme Court to consider the case immediately.
Jordan held a news conference at the Tulsa Press Club.
He says, "I want this to be resolved, because the voters of Tulsa County deserve to go to the polls on August 26th and have this issue resolved. Because they don't need this distraction and this issue hanging over the vote like it was last week."
Jordan is confident the court will find in his favor.?
