A three-vehicle collision in Cherokee County left one driver dead and another with injuries Thursday afternoon, according to an OHP press release.
Jess Robbins, 35 of Park Hill, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The impact left another driver, Joshua Fritz, 33, of Tahlequah in stable condition with head, trunk, arm and leg injuries. He was transported by helicopter to St. John Medical Center.
Robbins was driving a 1991 Toyota sedan east on US Highway 62 about 5 miles West of Tahlequah when he went left of center and hit an oncoming 2008 Chevy pickup driven by Fritz.
The two vehicles rotated and came to a stop in the roadway. Debris from the impact then hit a third vehicle but did not injure the driver.
Both drivers involved in the initial impact were pinned in their vehicles until they could be freed by Tahlequah Fire and Rescue and Woodall Fire and Rescue.
