Catoosa Man Known to Give Children Candy Suspected of Abuse

Robert Caine

A Catoosa man is facing five counts of child molestation after authorities state he offered children candy and molested them in his house.

Catoosa Police arrested Robert Caine earlier this week after an investigation dating back in April discovered he had allegedly sexually abused five children. It happened after when one of the victim's mother was contacted by a cousin that the 12-year-old had been touched "inappropriately."

Catoosa Police Chief Kevin McKim told KTUL that a detective with the investigation arrived at Caine's residence and arrested him after interviewing the victims and parents. The Child Advocacy Center in Claremore also assisted in the investigation.

"It's just one of those things that's just a horrific crime," McKim said. "An absolutely horrific crime."

Caine was originally charged with three counts of child molestation. He was charged with two more counts after two additional victims came forward.

After Caine was taken into custody officers entered his residence and discovered child pornography. Chief McKim said that the images contained none of the victims that came forward in Catoosa.

Now authorities are asking any other victims of Caine to come forward. Residents in the neighborhood stated that he would offer children candy and they would see them coming in and out of his house.

Caine is now being held in the Wagoner County Jail. He has already appeared before a judge for arraignment.

"You've gotta be looking around your surroundings," McKim said. "Watch your children."
