Emergency Water Rationing Continues for Residents in Grove
Residents in Grove are being asked to conserve water Wednesday after a water tower collapsed into Grand Lake.
Officials at the City of Grove notified residents Tuesday afternoon that an emergency mandatory water rationing was in place until further notice. Grove is located east of Tulsa in Delaware County.
Grove City Manager Bill Keefer told KTUL that city workers were making repairs to the tower when a line that secures it to the dock snapped. That's when the tower fell into the lake at Honey Creek State Park.
KTUL learned that the water rationing began shortly after the accident. City workers were on scene throughout the afternoon and evening working to assess the damage and attempt any repairs.
Officials remain on scene investigating the incident. No word has been given on when the rationing will stop.
