At the beginning of the season if you told me Mike Gundy was going to start three different quarterbacks over the course of the year and start the third stringer against Oklahoma, I would have said the Pokes don't have a very good chance of winning on Saturday.
But junior Clint Chelf, the third stringer, is playing like he should have been the starter from the word go.
He's thrown for 754 yards in the last three games with 8 touchdowns.
His performance doesn't surprise senior receiver Isaiah Anderson.
"He was backing up Brandon Weeden last year and doing the same thing when he was able to get in and play." Anderson said, "This comes as no surprise to me that he's out there doing the things he do."
OSU Offensive Coordinator Todd Monken thinks Chelf is getting better and doing a good job managing the offense. "I think he understands what we want him to do with the ball." Monken said, "I think he's playing really well and his confidence is rising. Like anybodies would with the more success that you have."
Chelf and the Cowboys travel to Norman this Saturday to take on the Sooners in Bedlam. Kickoff is set for 2:30.
