A Vinita couple was arrested by Delaware County deputies over the weekend after nearly a pound of crystal methamphetamine was reportedly found in their car.
A Delaware Co. detective reported seeing a man and woman involved in a verbal dispute on the shoulder of the roadway near County Road 590. When he went to check on the couple, he peered into the vehicle and saw drugs in plain view along with a firearm.
The detective recovered the loaded, small-caliber revolver in addition to the methamphetamine. He found more meth in a grocery sack in the back seat, which weighed almost one pound. He also found $775 in cash, the arrest report states.
The couple said they had just left Grove and had gotten into a verbal dispute on the way home.
The suspects, identified as Robert "Curt" Rogers, 39, and Tayler Warren, 43, were arraigned Monday morning. Bond for Warren was set at $25,000 and bond for Rogers was set at $30,000.
Both were released on bond after their court appearances.
