A unique event in Green Country brought out people interested in clogging. The Clogging Champions of America hosted the Route 66 Clogging Competition today. It was held in the historic Coleman Theatre in Miami. The competition featured age groups from 4 years old to adults representing several different states and regions. Clogging is becoming a more contemporary sport and that's what this competition is focusing on."We dance to pop music, incorporate a lot of jazz and hip hop and that sort of thing. So its very contemporary, very modern, that's really what Clogging Champions of America is about it's clogging for the now generation," says Matt Sexton, one of the coordinators. The event was sponsored by the City of Miami and the Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau. Winners qualify for the championship in Knoxville Tennessee in January.
