ALEX, Okla. (AP) - Authorities say an explosion sparked a fire at a gas processing plant in south-central Oklahoma.
Grady County Emergency Management Director Dale Thompson says the blast happened about 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Enogex facility near Alex. Thompson says there have been no reports of injuries and all plant employees have been accounted for and removed to an office away from the area of the fire.
Aerial news footage showed flames shooting out of 1 section of the plant.
Thompson says several fire departments and emergency crews were awaiting instructions from plant officials on how to proceed. He says a cause of the explosion hasn't been determined.
A call to Enogex's Oklahoma City office for comment wasn't immediately returned.Copyright 2010 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
