Crash Kills Sapulpa Woman South Of Sand Springs

A deadly crash takes a Sapulpa woman's life near Sand Springs Saturday.

It happened around 8:30am on Highway 97 near 61st Street south.

Troopers said 55-year-old Carolyn Krawetzke and her husband Dennis were riding northbound in a Ford Bronco SUV.

Taylor Rooks, 20, of Sapulpa, tried to cross in front of them at 61st Street, but didn't make it across the intersection.

The two cars hit and Carolyn Krawetzke was ejected on impact.

Her body landed on the wet pavement. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dennis and Rooks weren't seriously injured.

OHP trooper Matt Hughart said neither of the Krawetzkes were wearing seatbelts.

The couple was heading to a veterinary clinic with animals in the SUV. It's unclear if they were hurt in the crash.
