Investigators Expected on Scene of Oil Tank Battery Fire
GLENPOOL, Okla. —
Glenpool and Kiefer fire departments responded late Sunday night to a fire at an oil storage facility just off of State Highway 67 and 33rd W. Avenue.
Crews were called to the scene just before 11:30 p.m.
When they arrived, they could see crude oil, burning as it ran down the road.
The Glenpool Deputy Fire Chief says one of the oil storage tanks had leaked the crude oil.
It's unclear what caused the leak or how the oil caught fire.
Firefighters put out the flames in about half an hour.
No one was hurt.
Either the State Fire Marshal or the Corporation Commission will be on scene to investigate sometime Monday.
