CVS Pharmacy Stops Selling Tobacco
ASSOCIATED PRESS —
CVS Caremark announced the end of all tobacco sales in its stores Wednesday morning.
As of September 3rd, all tobacco products have been removed from the shelves of CVS pharmacies as the company focuses it efforts on the health of its customers.
The move comes nearly a month early.
CVS originally announced that it would do away with tobacco products by October 1st, saying they conflicted with the company's health care mission.
It is the first major retailer to end sales of tobacco products and health care advocates hope other large companies will follow.
CVS says its tobacco sales bring in about $2 Billion each year.
