Depew Officer Arrested, Accused of Burglary & Assault
A Depew Police officer is arrested and jailed after an altercation at a home in that city.
According to arrest documents, Officer Delbert C. Jackson, 70, was at a residence on south Purdy Street January 3rd.
Creek County deputies were called to the house after getting a complaint from resident Kevin Lane. Lane told deputies that Officer Jackson and another woman forced their way into his home, shoving his daughter aside.
They were allegedly there to take items won by the woman in a divorce settlement. Jackson told Lane's daughter that he had a court order and " 'had heard from a third party' that some of the woman's belongings were in the home," arrest documents state.
The woman's ex husband lived across the street, documents show.
Kevin Lane's daughter told police that Jackson forced her out of the way and he and the woman looked in all the rooms of the home.
Both Jackson and the woman gave statements to deputies. Jackson was arrested and taken to the Creek County Jail.
Court records show Jackson has been charged with one count of 1st degree burglary. He is set for arraignment January 18th.
