Haskell County authorities have located an escaped inmate that has been missing for almost a week.
Officials with the Haskell County Sheriff's Office confirmed Edward Branch's capture Monday morning. Haskell County is located southeast of Tulsa.
Officials with the HCSO told KTUL that Branch was located walking eastbound on I-40 near Sallisaw. Sallisaw authorities were able to catch up to him and arrest him.
Branch managed to escape the jail and elude deputies since his escape April 22. His escape sent Stigler Public Schools into a lockdown.
Officials told KTUL that Branch's mother, Sara Branch, was taken into custody for reported obstruction and possibly harboring him.
Branch has escaped correctional facilities twice before. That includes McIntosh and Craig Counties.
