Drillers Pound San Antonio 9-4 Following Rain Delay

After a nearly two-hour rain delay, the Tulsa Drillers defeated the San Antonio Missions 9-4 behind Josh Rutledge's two home runs Friday night at ONEOK Field.The game was to have started at 7:05, but didn't get underway until almost 9 o'clock thanks to showers and thunderstorms in the area.Rutledge led off the bottom of the first inning with his first round-tripper. Later in the inning, Nolan Arenado doubled home Michael Mitchell for a 2-0 lead.The Missions knotted the game in the third on a two-run homer by Jaff Decker. But, Tulsa proceeded to score in each of the next five innings to take control.Also sending pitches out of the ballpark were Tulsa outfielder Kent Matthes and pinch hitter Ben Paulsen, who each drove in a pair of runs.Tulsa starter Dan Houston picked up his first win of the season, allowing three runs on three hits in six innings of work.The Drillers and Missions will play the series finale Saturday at 7:05 p.m., weather permitting.
