Monday night's series opener between the Tulsa Drillers and the Springfield Cardinals that was scheduled to be played at ONEOK Field was rained out. The game will now be played as part of a doubleheader Tuesday.
Off and on rain showers in the downtown Tulsa area forced Monday's postponement. It is the first rainout at ONEOK Field this season and the first since April 23, 2013.
In Tuesday's doubleheader, each game will be scheduled for 7 innings in length. The first game will begin at 5:00 PM with game two slated to start 20-30 minutes after the conclusion of game one.
The pitching matchups for the doubleheader will feature Richard Castillo (1-2, 4.09 ERA) for the Drillers and Kyle Hald (2-0, 1.61 ERA) for the Cardinals in game one. The nightcap will have Carlos Hernandez (0-2, 2.95 ERA) on the mound for Tulsa, while Springfield has yet to announce a starting pitcher.
