The Tulsa Drillers schedule for the 2014 season has been finalized by the Texas League. The Drillers 2014 opener is set for Thursday, April 3 when they will host Corpus Christi. It is the first time since 2011 that the Drillers will open the season at home.
The season opening homestand will consist of a six games in six straight days, running from April 3-8. The stand will include three games against the Hooks and three more against the San Antonio Missions.
The 2014 home slate is highlighted by 19 Fireworks Games at ONEOK Field. Every Friday home game will feature post-game fireworks, while shows will follow five selected Saturday games. In addition, two special fireworks shows are scheduled for Monday, June 30 (Independence Day Celebration) and Sunday, August 31 (Labor Day Celebration).
Overall, the Texas League will again play a 140-game split season, with Tulsa playing 70 home games. The first-half of the Texas League season will conclude on June 16.
Of the 70 games to be played at ONEOK Field, 44 will be played on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The Drillers will play 14 home games during the month of April, 13 in May, 15 in June, 12 in July, 15 in August and 1 in September.
The home schedule includes seven weekday, day games. The day games are scheduled for: April 7 (12:05PM), April 30 (11:05AM), May 14 (12:05PM), May 19 (11:05AM), May 28 (4:05PM), June 18 (11:05AM) and September 1 (1:05PM).
The normal starting time for evening games at ONEOK Field will remain at 7:05PM. Sunday home games in April, May and June will begin at 2:05PM, while Sunday games the remainder of the year will have the standard start time of 7:05PM.
Because of the two Bedlam Games that are scheduled to be played at ONEOK Field on May 16 and May 17, the home schedule has two split series with Northwest Arkansas. The Drillers will host the Naturals on April 25 and 26, before traveling to Northwest Arkansas for a short two-game road trip on April 27 and 28. Tulsa will return to ONEOK Field on April 29 to begin a four-game series with Arkansas.
The Drillers will host Springfield for a four-game series May 12-15, before moving to Northwest Arkansas on May 16 and 17 while Bedlam is played at ONEOK Field. The Drillers and Naturals will conclude their four-game set in downtown Tulsa on May 18 and May 19.
Tulsa will conclude the regular season with a seven-game homestand with the regular season finale slated for Labor Day afternoon on Monday, September 1 at ONEOK Field.
