Eagles Have Frequent Flyer Miles To State Tournament

The Oklahoma High School State Basketball Tournament begins Thursday afternoon for classes 6A through 3A.

The Tulsa Edison boys have almost made the state tournament an every year thing. This is their sixth trip in the last seven years. And they've had good success once they've reached the final eight teams.

A win over #1 McGuinness Thursday would be their fifth straight opening round victory.

"I'm real proud of our guys." Edison Head Coach Michael Parish said, "This is a new group. You know the last few years and the success getting there doesn't really have a lot to do with this years team. This years team stands on their own merit. They fought for this and it's a great accomplishment for those guys."

Edison will face the Bishop McGuinness fighting Irish Thursday afternoon at 3:30pm at Sapulpa High School.
