Extended Severe Weather Outlook

The weekend will be calm, but warm with temperatures in the upper 80s and lower 90s. Dry weather will continue through next Wednesday.

Big changes head our way by the end of next week with our pattern becoming more favorable to severe weather.

A storm system will approach the southwestern United States by Wednesday, which will bring gulf moisture back into the region. As this storm system moves towards our area, showers and thunderstorm chances will increase. The exact track and position of the surface features will determine the severe potential.

However, we are entering the peak time of year for severe weather in Eastern Oklahoma. Tulsa's Channel 8 will continue to keep you updated on the evolution of the storm system all weekend.
