Officials Up Security at Bartlesville Public Schools

Extra precautions are being taken this morning in Bartlesville as students return to class.

Bartlesville Public Schools officials say police officers will be stationed in schools and classroom doors will have improved locks.

The school reviewed its security plans after Sammie Eaglebear Chavez, 18, was accused of plotting to shoot students at the school and detonate bombs to kill police.

No one was harmed.

His mother has said her son did not seriously plan any violence.

Chavez remains jailed on $1 million bond.
