Fallin Opposes Detention Plan for Fort Sill

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Gov. Mary Fallin says her office has been notified that Fort Sill is being considered as a place to house up to 1,200 minors who are living in the country illegally.

Fallin said in a news release that the regional administrator for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security informed her office on Friday that the Army base could be used to house minors who illegally enter the U.S.

Fallin said she is "dismayed" by information.

U.S. Rep. Tom Cole and Sen. Jim Inhofe have released statements opposing the plan to house the minors at Fort Sill.
