      Accident Leads to Multiple Fatalities, West of Sapulpa

      The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating what led to a multiple fatality wreck near Sapulpa, Sunday Afternoon.

      It happened just after Noon on State Highway 33 just west of the intersection of 193rd West Avenue.

      Authorities confirmed 36-year-old Carmen D. Spicer, Donald L. Clift, 54, and Jane T. Clift, 52, all died at the scene.

      Spicer had been driving a 2001 Chevrolet Pickup westbound on SH 33, when for an unknown reason, merged into the eastbound lane, striking the Clift's 2010 Buick head-on.

      All three involved in the accident were pinned for 45 minutes, but died as a result of massive injuries.

      Seatbelts were equipped in both vehicles, however, Spicer's had not been in use.

      OHP closed Highway 33 for a short time while they conducted their investigation. The road has since been re-opened.
