Formal charges were filed Wednesday morning against a Tulsa man accused of taking his 2-year-old son from his mother last week.
Oklahoma state prosecutors processed the charges against William Cory Taylor this week at the Tulsa County courthouse. He faces one count of child stealing and another for violation of a protective order.
Taylor was taken into custody by Tulsa Police Sept. 5 after allegedly taking the child from his biological mother at a residence in south Tulsa. Previous reports stated that he was found by a fisherman who had been at a pond near 106th and North Lewis when he identified Taylor's truck.
TPD officers stated at the time of the abduction that a permanent protective order is in place for Jason Taylor with William Taylor as the defendant.
Court records revealed that Taylor was ordered to stay 300 yards from Jason and another minor child during a March 28 hearing for an emergency protective order.
Taylor will appear in court at a later date which has not been determined.
