East Tulsa Resident Pronounced Dead after House Fire

Tulsa Fire crews pulled an unconscious 67-year-old male from a house fire that sparked in East Tulsa Tuesday morning around 6:30 a.m.

EMSA told KTUL that the hospital has pronounced the victim dead.

The location of the fire was the 3300 block of S. 126th E. Ave. The fire was called in by a garbage man who saw smoke from the outside. A neighbor busted out additional windows in the hope of ventilating the home.

Fire crews found the couch in the living room on fire when they arrived. The cause of the fire is still under investigation but there was no working smoke detector in the home.

The man was in the bedroom. TFD crews busted out a bedroom window and rescued him. The victim was unconscious and was transported to St. Francis hospital.

Authorities said the fire took about 10 minutes to extinguish.
