Women Burned After Fire Breaks Out at Townhome
Two women were transported to an area hospital Friday after a fire broke out at a townhome in south Tulsa.
Crews with the Tulsa Fire Department were notified of the blaze early Friday morning near 71st and Yale. It was there that they found flames coming from the roof of the building.
At the scene firefighters told KTUL that two women were rescued from the townhome. But both received burns to their hands and feet.
Two firemen also were treated at the scene for steam burns they received during the fire attack.
It is believed that a candle may have sparked the fire. An investigation will determine an exact cause.
Five fire trucks were sent to the scene at the time of the incident.
