An unusual item was up for auction at the City of Tulsa surplus auction May 31: a floating stage.
The stage is being sold by the River Parks Authority. Vehicles, office equipment, furniture and many other surplus items will be auctioned off.
The auction began at 9:30 am. Saturday at the City's surplus property facility at 108 N. Trenton Ave.
The floating stage was sold for $550. A River Parks Authority spokesperson said the stage was bought in 1984 for $300,000 by a private foundation. The spokesperson also said it would be expensive for the winning bidder to transport the stage out of the facility.
