Flu Watch: Two New Deaths in Tulsa County, Six Across Oklahoma

State department of health officials added six more influenza-blamed deaths to their most current report to the public Thursday morning.

The department reported that Oklahoma has seen a total of 23 deaths and 798 hospitalizations since Sept. 30.

That includes the 42 hospitalizations recorded between Jan. 30 and Thursday, according to their website.

Here in Tulsa County, the number of hospitalizations jumped from 219 last week to 236 this week. That's the highest in the state.

The number of hospitalizations has already surpassed last year's total of 316. The department reports that the flu season is considered to be the months of September through May.
