Former Kellyville Teacher Charged with Second Degree Rape

A former Kellyville Public Schools instructor was charged with second degree rape on accusations that she had an inappropriate relationship with one of her students.

Prosecutors allege that Glenpool resident Kalyn Thompson was sexually involved with a 18-year-old male student at Kellyville High School. She resigned from her teaching position after reports of the relationship surfaced.

"I can see the teacher resigning," area resident Albert Davis told KTUL. "When there's allegations, you know, she can't teach school with that kind of thing hanging on her head."

KTUL first reported days after her resignation that detectives with the Creek County Sheriff's Office had begun their investigation. Students were questioned by their sex crimes unit.

Court records indicate that prosecutors filed charges May 9 against Thompson. She bonded out of the Creek County Jail on a $35,000 amount.

Another court appearance has not been scheduled at this time.
