New iPad minis were delivered to elementary schools in Sand Springs Tuesday morning.
A hundred of them to be exact. And they were given to the schools through the Sand Springs Education Foundation at a ceremony over Northwoods Fine Arts Academy.
"The need for technology keeps increasing with the grants that are requested to the foundation," Foundation Director Sylvia Fooshee told KTUL. "And we are just trying to address that situation in some fashion."
According to a press release, combined with this donation to our schools, the Sand Springs Education Foundation awarded 21 other grants totaling over $34,000 on Wed. December 18th. The combined total given to the Sand Springs Schools from the SSEF will be over $76,000 this year.
This year marks the foundation's 25th year. Their original mission is to help provide creative and innovative materials that cannot be funded through local, state or federal sources.
