The Crime Prevention Network is teaming up with DVIS to make sure residents have the tools they need to stay safe and aware of their surroundings.Residents met up in East Tulsa Monday to learn about safety tactics on how to get out of all sorts of threatening situations, regardless of age, gender or size.Organizers say it all started with the serial rapist, but they want to make sure people stay aware of their surroundings."What we had happen in June was a horrible thing, and it was a wake-up call for folks, and I'm really happy about that, but it's real important that we continue to be vigilant because there's many more out there than we have heard about," says Carol Bush, the Executive Director of the Crime Prevention Network.Bush says neighbors calling in suspicious activity last month resulted in several arrests. The Crime Prevention Network is offering these free seminars to businesses, neighborhoods and church groups. For more information, visit their website at or call 918-585-5209.
