With demand for food going up and donations on the decline, you are always encouraged to donate food items to the food bank. Volunteering, however, is an aspect of charity often overlooked. The smell of fresh onions filled the air at a local food bank this evening as about 70 people volunteered at the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma in Tulsa. They sorted and repackaged fresh vegetables.
This was the second of three Friday Fun Nights this summer. The first was held on June 13th and the last one will be Friday August 8 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM.
The food bank serves 24 counties. If you would like to volunteer, contact the food bank at 918-585-2800. The Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma is located at 1304 North Kenosha Avenue.
